Suddenly, we’re going through a blistering heat wave this summer. For a segment for Fox 5 DC, I covered cool summer finds from ways to get your glow to staying hydrated on the hottest of days!
1. We've been indoors awhile: get bronzed!
This new bronzer from Charlotte Tilbury is like a multi-dimensional glowy filter for your face. With mica and silica for smoothing and hyaluronic acid for moisturization, it won’t be cakey but super enriching on the face. Layer lightly for a sun-kissed glow, layer up for contouring. 2. It's a great time to spread some love - one lip at a time!
As a celebrity makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury has tackled her share of weddings! 3. With the heat, comes the need for hydration.
I’ve been searching for ways to hydrate outside of traditional sports drinks. 4. Find a new summer fragrance!
I feel like fragrance is one of the most underemphasized accessories one can wear! You change up your scent, and it’s like a whole new representation of your personality! 5. Incredible Scented Moisturizer from your drugstore!
With the drying summer heat, I love a deep all-body moisturizer for after swimming and showers. Jergens has a new line of body butters offering the rich softness of cocoa, shea and mango butters, infused with essential oils in the fragrances of Lavender (relaxing), Sweet Citrus (energizing) and Rose (romantic). 6. Exfoliate, Hydrate, Sun Protect...Repeat!
My new favorite find for skincare is a natural brand--Mychelle Natural Skincare--that’s been around for twenty years! They specialize in clean beauty, and from their extensive line here are my summer must-haves:

So gentle as a sugar exfoliator that you can use it every day. A great option for combating and dealing with mask-ne, the new phenomenon of breaking out in pimples on your chin due to increased mask wearing. I use this nightly to cleanse my face.

I know we need to wear SPF daily on our faces, but I’m not a fan of the scent of sunscreens right under my nose: it makes my feel like my skin is more oily. Mychelle’s new Sun Shield is extremely sheer and can be used as a primer or alone, while still offering 50 SPF max protection against UVA and UVB rays! Don’t forget to shake prior to use, and guess what? This one doesn’t smell--and I have a sensitive sniffer! Available in untinted, light to medium and medium to dark.

Doing a more concentrated moisturization mask is recommended once or twice a week. But if you use this Water Mask and leave it on your face overnight (after proper skin testing of course!), you’ll wake up to buttery soft skin! It’s incredible! 7. A relaxing way to wind down your day!
